Just days after celebrating his college graduation, 22-year-old Timothy Howard tragically passed away from a severe allergic reaction to peanuts.
Timothy, who had just earned a degree in Communication Studies from the University of Rhode Island, went into anaphylactic shock in the middle of the night on May 24. He managed to wake his parents, Tim and Patty, but despite using his EpiPen and calling 911, the reaction came on too fast.
“He said he couldn’t breathe,” his father shared. “It all happened so quickly.”
His mother later wrote on Facebook, “We just celebrated his graduation… he had his whole life ahead of him. Our hearts are broken.”
In Timothy’s memory, his fraternity brothers launched a fundraiser for Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE), raising over $27,000 so far. His friend, Kourosh Emami, described him as kind, thoughtful, and quietly powerful — someone who made others feel safe and loved.
Though Timothy’s life was cut short, his spirit lives on through the love he inspired and the awareness now being raised in his name.
