“In the Still of the Night”: The Doo-Wop Classic That Stood the Test of Time
Originally written by Fred Parris and recorded by his group The Five Satins, In the Still of the Night may have been a modest hit when it first came out—but over the decades, it’s become one of the most beloved doo-wop songs of all time.
Penned in 1955 in the basement of a local church, this timeless track has lived on through generations. It’s been covered by a range of artists, including Boyz II Men and Debbie Gibson, and has appeared in several films.
