At one point, Pauline Potter was known around the world as the heaviest woman alive, weighing in at 678 pounds. But behind the headlines and numbers was a woman trapped in pain—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Pauline appeared on My 600-Lb Life in 2015 during Season 3. Her everyday life had become a struggle. Cared for by her devoted son Dillon, she was almost entirely dependent on him for basic needs. Her breakfast alone—six scrambled eggs, half a pound of bacon, four hash browns, six slices of buttered bread, and an ice cream milkshake—was a reflection of how far her health had spiraled.
She underwent gastric bypass surgery in hopes of turning things around. But like many on this journey, Pauline soon realized that surgery alone couldn’t fix the deeper wounds. “The doctor fixed our stomachs,” she once said, “but he didn’t fix our minds.” Battling a painkiller addiction and emotional trauma, Pauline hit another low point.
Then came a turning point: a life-threatening infection and another round of surgery forced her to face her reality head-on. This time, she committed—truly committed—to saving her life.
Through grit, therapy, and a complete lifestyle transformation, Pauline began to change. She lost more than 500 pounds. By 2022, she had reached 223 pounds—a number that represented so much more than weight. It symbolized freedom, strength, and the return of her independence.
Today, Pauline is nearly unrecognizable—not just in appearance, but in spirit. She looks healthier, more confident, and at peace. Her social media is filled with supportive messages from people around the world who see in her a beacon of resilience and hope.
Her story is a reminder that healing is not a straight line, and that true transformation begins from the inside out.
