Anna, a talented chef, was overjoyed to learn she was finally pregnant — but her husband wasn’t. Cold and distant, he treated her like a burden. Months later, as Anna closed up the restaurant one night, he appeared unexpectedly.
“I’ll drive you home,” he said with a strained smile. Relieved, she thought maybe he’d changed — until he shoved her into the restaurant’s walk-in freezer and locked the door. “You’ll spend the night here,” he said before walking away.
Trapped in the freezing cold, Anna screamed until her contractions began. Luckily, a security guard doing rounds noticed someone still inside the building. When he opened the freezer, he found Anna barely conscious and called for help.
She gave birth early, but both she and the baby survived. Her husband was later arrested and confessed he’d tried to kill her for money.
Now, every night as Anna holds her son, she whispers softly, “I survived because of you.”
