Ronald Fenty, the father of global music star Rihanna, has died at the age of 70 in Los Angeles following a brief illness. The exact cause and date of his passing have not been publicly disclosed.

Rihanna and her father had a complicated and often strained relationship. Over the years, they experienced several public disputes, including a 2019 lawsuit Rihanna filed over the use of the “Fenty” name in business ventures—a case that was ultimately settled out of court.

Despite their differences, the two reconciled at times. Ronald had previously expressed his gratitude for Rihanna’s support during his health battles, especially when he contracted COVID-19 in 2020.
