At least four people were killed and eleven others injured early Saturday after a police chase ended in a fiery crash outside Bradley’s on 7th — a popular gay bar in Tampa’s Ybor City.
Tampa police say the chase started around 12:45 a.m. when officers spotted a speeding car on I-275 linked to street racing earlier that night. As the vehicle exited the highway, officers tried a pit maneuver but quickly called it off because of the dense crowds in the nightlife area.
Moments later, the driver lost control near 7th Avenue and plowed into the bar’s packed outdoor patio. Witnesses described the aftermath as chaotic — tables overturned, people screaming, and strangers rushing in to help the injured.
“It sounded like an explosion,” one witness said. “Everyone was just hanging out, laughing — then out of nowhere, this car came flying through.”
