Lately, my five-year-old daughter started acting strangely at mealtime. She refused to eat at the table and would carry her plate to the bathroom, lock the door, and eat there. At first, I thought it was a phase, but after a month, I grew worried.
Talking to her didn’t help—she stayed silent. So one day, I set up a hidden camera to see what was going on.
During lunch, she quietly ate… until she suddenly shouted,
“That’s it! Alex gets nothing!”
Alex is her older brother. Shocked, I asked him why she always hid in the bathroom. Calmly, he admitted,
“She’s afraid I’ll steal her food. I’ve done it a few times—hers just tastes better.”
Suddenly, everything made sense. My daughter wasn’t acting out or sick—she was fiercely protecting her food from her sneaky older brother.
Sometimes, the simplest explanations are the most surprising—and also kind of funny.
