A heartbreaking crash in Pontiac Friday night claimed the lives of a mother and her two young children, with a third child still fighting to survive.
Around 8:20 p.m., a 21-year-old man driving a Honda Civic lost control, crossed traffic, and slammed into a Chevy Malibu stopped at a red light. The 37-year-old driver of the Malibu died at the scene. Her children, ages 6 and 4, later passed away at the hospital. A 9-year-old sibling remains in critical condition.
Witnesses rushed to help, describing the scene as devastating. The Civic’s driver was hospitalized in stable condition. Neighbors say the intersection is notoriously dangerous and that the Honda appeared to be speeding.
The crash remains under investigation.
