Is Meghan Markle Plotting a Big Instagram Comeback? One Expert Thinks She Could Outshine Kate Middleton
Rumors are swirling that Meghan Markle is preparing for a major return to Instagram—and some believe she might even surpass Kate Middleton in popularity.
After a challenging few months, things could be looking up for the Duchess of Sussex. There’s growing speculation that Meghan plans to relaunch her lifestyle blog, The Tig, and rejoin Instagram, where she once had a major presence.
Public relations expert Mayah Riaz told The Mirror that Meghan’s comeback could shake up the royal social media landscape. “There’s no doubt—when Meghan returns to Instagram, she’s going to outshine Kate in terms of popularity,” Riaz said.
While Kate Middleton’s Instagram is known for its polished, picture-perfect posts, it’s widely assumed that her account is carefully curated by a team. “It presents the ideal royal image, which is exactly what the Royal Family wants,” Riaz explained.
But Meghan’s situation is very different. Since stepping away from royal duties and moving to California with Prince Harry three years ago, she has much more freedom. “She can post whatever she wants without needing approval,” Riaz said.
So what should fans expect from Meghan’s Instagram? According to Riaz, a much more personal, unfiltered look into her life. “We’ll likely see real glimpses of Meghan and her family—not just the polished highlights,” she noted.
And it won’t just be fans who are watching. Riaz predicts Meghan’s posts will make headlines, unlike the more understated content typically shared by Kate and William. “We’ve seen Meghan dancing at a Beyoncé concert, showing affection with Harry—things you’d never see from Kate and William. That kind of content will grab attention,” she said.
Even Meghan’s critics, Riaz added, will likely follow her account. “Let’s not forget, even people who dislike Meghan are still interested in what she’s doing.”
Still, Meghan’s return to social media won’t be all smooth sailing. Riaz warned that online trolling will likely follow. “Once it’s confirmed that @meghan is her official account, she’ll gain followers quickly—but unfortunately, she’ll also attract a lot of hate. We’ve already seen how much abuse she’s faced on platforms like Twitter, and sadly, it will likely continue on Instagram.”
