82-Year-Old Man Diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer, Family Reviewing Treatment Options

An 82-year-old man has been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, according to a statement released by his personal office on Sunday, May 18. Doctors have classified the cancer as Grade Group 5—an aggressive form—with a Gleason score of 9 and confirmed spread to the bone.

The diagnosis came after the man sought medical attention for worsening urinary symptoms. While the cancer is described as aggressive, it is also hormone-sensitive, meaning there are still treatment options available.

The man and his family are currently working with his medical team to evaluate next steps and determine the most effective treatment strategy.

According to the American Cancer Society, a Grade Group 5 cancer has a high risk of growth and spread. Although metastasis to the bones has occurred, there’s no current indication that the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes or other organs.

This diagnosis comes after previous health reports had shown no significant concerns. In 2023, a biopsy revealed a small area of basal cell carcinoma, which was successfully removed.

The individual remains under close medical supervision and is actively exploring his options with the support of his family and physicians.
