A Frontier Airlines A320neo was suddenly taken out of service after a ground incident just before its scheduled flight to New York.
The plane had landed earlier from Philadelphia without any problems. But as crews prepared it for departure, one engine began powering up and its strong suction pulled in a nearby air-conditioning hose, tearing it apart inside the engine.
Ground crews stopped everything immediately. After an inspection, maintenance teams ruled the aircraft unsafe to fly and grounded it for repairs.
Passengers were delayed or rebooked, but the airline stressed that safety comes first. Though rare, the incident is a reminder that even on the ground, small mistakes around aircraft engines can have serious consequences.
