Gang Leader Opens Fire, Injures Charleston Deputy During Routine Stop

A routine traffic stop in Charleston turned violent when a gang leader tied to the Gudda Boy Gang opened fire on a deputy, leaving him critically wounded.

Though shot multiple times, the deputy managed to call for help before collapsing. After a citywide manhunt, the suspect was captured following a tense standoff.

The attack has shaken Charleston, sparking vigils for the wounded officer and renewed vows from leaders to crack down on gang violence.
