FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino announced that the agency is reopening investigations into three major unresolved cases:
-
The 2021 Capitol Hill Pipe Bombs: Despite viable explosive devices being discovered near both the Democratic and Republican national headquarters just before the January 6 riot, no suspect has ever been identified.
-
The 2022 Supreme Court Leak: The individual responsible for leaking the draft opinion that led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade in the Dobbs case remains unknown.
-
The 2023 White House Cocaine Discovery: That investigation was closed without identifying a suspect, citing insufficient evidence.
Bongino, recently appointed by former President Trump, said the renewed focus on these cases is driven by heightened public interest and concerns about possible corruption. He also confirmed that weekly updates on the investigations are now being provided.
