CLEVELAND — A courtroom erupted when Van Terry, father of murder victim Shirellda Terry, lunged at serial killer Michael Madison just moments after Madison was sentenced to death. Deputies pulled Terry away as chaos broke out.
Madison, 38, was found guilty of killing three women in 2013, their bodies discovered near his East Cleveland home. Despite his defense citing a traumatic childhood, the judge ruled the crimes were too brutal for leniency.
While Madison received the death penalty, ongoing appeals and drug shortages mean the execution is likely years off.
