Wendy Auger, a mom of four from New Hampshire, was stunned when the DMV told her to give up her beloved license plate after 15 years. The plate? “PB4WEGO”—a playful reminder to her kids to “pee before we go.”
Wendy, a paralegal, said it was a harmless joke that every parent can relate to. But the DMV claimed it referenced “sexual or excretory acts” and demanded she turn it in.
“It’s part of our family,” Wendy said. “If I can’t keep it, how is that ‘live free or die’?”
After she posted about it on Facebook, support poured in—and the story went viral. Even New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu stepped in, calling it a “bureaucratic hold-up” and reversed the decision.
On August 28, 2019, Wendy celebrated online:
“This Sassy Momma Has Her Plates!!!”
Common sense—and a mom’s sense of humor—won the day.
