BREAKING: Senator Dick Durbin rips into MAGA Attorney General Pam Bondi for greenlighting the shockingly corrupt $400 million luxury jet bribe that Qatar is giving to Donald Trump — says that it “clearly violates the Constitution.”
Bondi herself was raking in $119,000 a month from Qatar at one point…
“There are serious questions about whether you should have recused yourself from this matter. During your confirmation process, you did not list the State of Qatar as a conflict of interest on your Senate Judiciary Questionnaire, despite serving as a lobbyist for this foreign government prior to your confirmation as Attorney General,” Durbin wrote to Bondi, who has deemed the jet a “legally permissible” gift.
“When I asked you about this during your confirmation hearing, you refused to commit to recusing yourself from matters involving Qatar, but you did commit to ‘consult with the career ethics officials within the Department and make the appropriate decision,’” Durbin continued.
The senator went on to criticize the Justice Department under Bondi for removing “senior career ethics officials” and putting their duties “in the hands of two inexperienced political appointees who are beholden” to Bondi for their jobs.
Citing the “possibility” that Trump might accept the “unprecedented, extraordinary gift” of the jet, Durbin asked Bondi to furnish the memo which claims that acceptance of the plane is “legally permissible” as well as the “names and titles” of the DOJ ethic officials who she “consulted” on her profound conflict of interest.
“I look forward to your full and immediate compliance with these requests. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter,” concluded Durbin.
This entire debacle represents the most stunning demonstration of blatant corruption in American history.
Trump plans on upgrading the jet so that he can use it as Air Force One and then take it with him when he leaves office for his presidential library, a flagrant violation of the Constitution’s Emoluments Clause.
It should go without saying, but Qatar will expect something in return for their bribe. If this “deal” goes ahead like Trump wants, we may never find out what he gave them in return. Suffice it to say, it will not be in the best interests of the American people.
