Authorities have recovered the bodies of three men from a mudslide near Lillooet, British Columbia, while one man remains missing, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).
One body was found on Wednesday, followed by two more on Thursday, B.C. Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe said in a statement released Saturday. Search crews continued looking for a fourth missing man on Friday but were unable to locate him.
Earlier this week, the body of a woman was also recovered from the slide area, becoming the first confirmed death linked to the severe flooding and landslides that have hit southern British Columbia after last weekend’s heavy rainfall.
