BREAKING: MAGA Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett shreds Donald Trump’s Solicitor General for blatantly disrespecting liberal Justice Elena Kagan during a hearing.
Trump supporters are furious about this one…
“Sir, are you really going to answer Justice Kagan by saying there’s no way to do this expeditiously?” Barrett interjected to Solicitor General Dean John Sauer after he gave a wholly inadequate answer to Kagan.
“You resisted Justice Kagan when she said, ‘Could the individual plaintiffs form a class…’ Were a class appropriate for class certification, you can see that it could resolve the question quickly?” added Barrett.
“Yes, absolutely it could do so. I mean, we obviously dispute that…” Sauer responded.
The justices were hearing oral arguments on the legality or lack thereof of nationwide injunctions issued by federal judges.
In his quest to undermine and destroy the separation of powers, Trump is having his minions argue that a district judge should not be able to block his executive order that would unilaterally end birthright citizenship in the United States.
Trump sees the judicial branch as the final stumbling block to implementing his fascist vision of America and shredding the Constitution for good.
The Supreme Court is not being asked to come to a final decision on birthright citizenship, but rather on the broader question of these injunctions. Their ruling will have far-ranging ramifications on the survival of our democracy.
“I got to tell you that does not fill me with great confidence,” Kagan told Sauer during the hearing, referring to Trump’s birthright executive order. “How else are we going to get to the right result here, which is on my assumption that the EO is illegal?”
“That would be a profoundly wrong result,” shot back Sauer. He argued that the Supreme Court must balance “the equitable factors as to the scope of remedial relief, not as to underlying merits.”
“Yes, I mean, that’s a lot of words,” replied Kagan. She went on to say that the occasional overreaching injunction should not be used to justify the eradication of the legal practice entirely under the umbrella of an “illegal” executive order.
The justice is absolutely correct. If we allow Trump to seize this kind of power he will transform this country into an authoritarian hellscape ruled only by his erratic whims. If even Amy Coney Barrett — a woman appointed by Trump himself — can see that, then the other justices can too.
