BREAKING: Democratic star Congressman Jamie Raskin throws down the gauntlet to Donald Trump and declares that he MUST get approval from Congress if he wants to accept the luxury jet from Qatar.
And it gets even better…
During an appearance on CNN, Raskin was asked if he thinks that the $400 million jet is tied to some kind of corrupt scheme that comes with strings attached from Qatar.

“Well, undoubtedly there are,” said Raskin. “But it doesn’t make any difference because the Constitution forbids the president from accepting any present, emolument, office or title of any kind whatever.”
“The Constitution says, from a king, prince, or foreign state, without the consent of Congress,” he continued. “So, he’s got to come to Congress first.”

The congressman then compared the jet to the Statue of Liberty to illustrate his point. During his last day in office, President Grant signed a joint-Congressional resolution to accept the now-iconic statue. He didn’t unilaterally accept it like Trump is now claiming that he can do with the jet.
“You got to go to Congress in order to accept a gift from a foreign government, which is what this, and obviously there’s all kinds of national security implications because it is a government giving us this plane,” said Raskin.
“There’s all kinds of foreign policy implications, so Congress has got to debate it,” he stated.

Trump has insisted that it would be “stupid” to turn down a “free jet.” He intends on upgrading it to use it as Air Force One and then take it with him when he leaves office to transfer it to his presidential library.
Of course, there is nothing “free” about this plane. Qatar isn’t giving this jet away on a whim. They will expect concrete policy concessions from the Trump administration. They are bribing the White House to tilt American foreign policy in their favor.
Corrupt doesn’t even begin to describe this deal.
