Woman Demands Service Dog Be Removed from Plane—Gets Kicked Off Instead
While flying home to visit my parents, I boarded the plane with my certified service dog. I rely on him to manage my PTSD, and he’s trained to help during panic attacks. He sat quietly at my feet, just as the rules require.
But the peace didn’t last. A woman boarding the plane took one look at my dog and loudly complained.
“Are you kidding? I’m not sitting next to that filthy dog!”
I calmly explained he was a medical service animal, but she demanded we be removed. A flight attendant stepped in and firmly told her that service dogs are fully allowed on board.
Still, the woman refused to back down, insisting I move or put the dog in the cargo hold. When the flight attendant asked for documentation, I handed over the dog’s papers. Everything was in order. But the woman kept arguing.
That’s when the pilot arrived.
“Do you have a dog allergy? Any medical proof?” he asked sternly.
She had none.
“Then you’re not flying today,” he said coldly. “And I’ll make sure you’re banned from this airline.”
The cabin applauded as she was escorted off the plane. My dog remained calm, steady, and by my side—exactly where he belonged.
