Mikey was just 14, his smile masking the pain of classmates’ cruelty. After losing him, our home fell silent, and the school brushed it off as an “unfortunate situation.”
While sorting his belongings, I found his journal — words filled with hurt that pushed me to share his story. At his memorial, the Steel Angels motorcycle club stood in solidarity, showing the world that every child’s life matters.
Since then, Mikey’s story has inspired anti-bullying programs, open conversations, and a scholarship in his name. I now ride with the Steel Angels, carrying his message forward: someone cares, and someone is listening.
