Researchers say coffee might one day fuel cars—but drinking it too early may not fuel you the right way. Doctors recommend waiting until mid- to late-morning (9:30–11:30 a.m.) instead of reaching for that first cup on an empty stomach.
Having coffee too soon can backfire: it may leave you feeling sleepier, strip your body of key minerals, upset your stomach, spike blood sugar, worsen anxiety, dry out your skin, and even lead to weight gain.
So while coffee has its perks, timing matters. Your morning pick-me-up works best once your body is ready for it.
