Born conjoined at the chest and abdomen, Bhutanese twins Nima and Dawa underwent a life-saving six-hour surgery in Melbourne in 2018. Now seven years old, they’re healthy, independent, and in second grade back home.
Their mother says they’re “growing very well,” and this year the girls chose to celebrate their birthday not with a party, but by visiting a temple and feeding the elderly — a reflection of the joy and gratitude that defines their journey.
