Tragic Loss in Bangka: Young Girl Killed by Crocodile
On January 11, 5-year-old Caca was attacked and killed by a saltwater crocodile near a lake in Bangka, Indonesia. Her parents tried to save her, but it was too late.
Rescuers recovered her body the next day, and the crocodile was captured. The lake, once a tin mining site, had become home to these enormous predators.
Indonesia has the world’s highest rate of crocodile attacks, and Caca’s death is a tragic reminder to respect wildlife and stay alert near dangerous habitats.
