Mikayla Raines, Creator Behind Save a Fox, Passes Away

Ethan Raines, husband of YouTuber and Save a Fox founder Mikayla Raines, shared heartbreaking news on June 23, 2025: Mikayla had died by suicide after years of battling depression, borderline personality disorder, and relentless online bullying.

“She felt everything so deeply,” Ethan said, describing her as both empathetic and vulnerable. Despite the cruelty she faced—even from within the animal rescue world—Mikayla never stopped fighting for the foxes she loved. But this time, the pain overwhelmed her.

Mikayla’s death sparked an outpouring of love and grief. Supporters remembered her compassion, her strength, and the difference she made—not just for animals, but for everyone she touched.

She discovered her passion at 15, rescuing her first fox, and later left college to pursue that calling full-time. She went on to save hundreds, including shutting down a fur farm. Though she’s gone, her mission—and her spirit—live on through her rescue work and her young daughter, Freya.
