Milwaukee Police Officer Kendall Corder, 32, has died after being critically injured in a shooting near 25th and Garfield last Thursday. He passed away Sunday at Froedtert Hospital.

In a heartfelt statement, the Milwaukee Police Department called Corder’s death a “tragic and senseless loss” and praised his six years of dedicated service. “His bravery and commitment to protecting our city will never be forgotten,” the department said.

A somber procession followed the news of his passing. Fellow officers, some in tears, saluted as Corder’s body was transported from the hospital to the medical examiner’s office, where an Honor Guard received him. Police Chief Jeffrey Norman stood with Corder’s grieving family, asking the public for prayers and support.

The department will maintain a 24-hour watch until Officer Corder is laid to rest, honoring a fallen brother who gave his life in service to the community.
