Remembering Mikayla Raines: The Passionate Fox Rescuer Whose Light Went Out Too Soon

Mikayla Raines, founder of Save a Fox Rescue and beloved YouTuber, passed away in June 2025, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and courage. Her husband, Ethan, announced the heartbreaking news in an emotional video, revealing that Mikayla had long battled depression and borderline personality disorder. Despite her strength and deep love for animals, the emotional toll—fueled by online harassment and criticism—became overwhelming.

Mikayla’s journey began at 15 when she met her first fox while volunteering. That moment changed everything. She left college to dedicate her life to rescuing animals, especially foxes from fur farms. One of her most remarkable achievements was saving 500 animals after shutting down a fur facility.

Her final days still reflected her mission—feeding a lemur on camera, and privately teaching her daughter to respect wildlife. Though gone too soon, Mikayla’s legacy lives on in every life she touched, human and animal alike.
