Known for his powerful presence on stage and screen, Yulin died of cardiac arrest on June 10 in New York City, his manager confirmed. With a career spanning decades, he made lasting impressions in films like Scarface, Clear and Present Danger, Training Day, and in his unforgettable role as the hotheaded judge in Ghostbusters II.
Yulin also shined on television, earning an Emmy nomination for Frasier and appearing in Ozark, Veep, Billions, and more. A true theater veteran, he starred in multiple off-Broadway productions and taught for years at Juilliard.
Director Michael Hoffman, who had cast Yulin in the upcoming series American Classic, called him “one of the greatest artists” he’d ever known.
Yulin is survived by his wife, actress Kristen Lowman, a son-in-law, nephew, and several godchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, actress Claire Lucido.
