Legendary American actress Sally Field, 76, recently opened up about an unexpected and awkward Hollywood memory—revealing that her worst on-screen kiss was with none other than her ex-boyfriend, Burt Reynolds.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Field paused before naming Reynolds, her Smokey and the Bandit co-star, and admitted, “It just wasn’t something he really did for you,” adding that there was “a lot of drooling.” The two were romantically involved for five years after meeting in 1977, but Field later shared they hadn’t spoken during the last three decades of Reynolds’ life.
In a 2023 interview with Variety, she reflected on the relationship, saying bluntly, “He was just not good for me in any way.”
Despite the rocky history, Field continues to shine in Hollywood. She’s best known for iconic roles in Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias, and Mrs. Doubtfire, and has recently starred in shows like Dispatches from Elsewhere and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
