Three Young Sisters, Who Vanished After ‘Planned Visitation’ With Their Father, Found Dead — Police Release Details

In just two weeks, three families—living worlds apart—were shattered by heartbreaking acts of domestic violence and suspected murder-suicides, leaving loved ones in mourning and communities searching for answers.

In Chelan County, Washington, a mother’s worst fears came true. On May 30, Whitney Decker called police when her three daughters didn’t return from a visit with their father, Travis Decker. Days later, the bodies of 9-year-old Paityn, 8-year-old Evelyn, and 5-year-old Olivia were found near a campground. They had been zip-tied and suffocated. Travis, 32, is the prime suspect and remains on the run. A GoFundMe for Whitney has raised over $330,000, as strangers rally around a mother navigating unimaginable loss.

In Albuquerque, New Mexico, a May 24 house fire revealed a chilling scene. Three members of the Bockemeier family—parents in their 70s and their adult son—were found dead from gunshot wounds. Hours later, another son, Andrew, was discovered nearby with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities believe he killed his family during a mental health crisis before taking his own life.

And in Buenos Aires, Argentina, tragedy struck a family of four on May 21. A housekeeper walked into their apartment to find 12-year-old Ivo’s body by the door. Inside, his parents and 15-year-old brother were also dead. Police believe Laura Leguizamón, who had recently stopped her psychiatric treatment, fatally stabbed her family before taking her own life. Her last Facebook post—a stream of scattered thoughts alongside smiling family photos—now reads like a cry for help.

Each story is different, but they all speak to the same truth: behind closed doors, silent struggles can spiral into tragedy.

If you or someone you love is in crisis, help is available. Call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or text HELLO to 741-741. You’re not alone.
