Hailey Hosford, a 27-year-old hairstylist and yoga retreat instructor, was tragically stabbed to death in a Sunrise, Florida parking garage just before she was about to head home. The attack occurred around 1:30 a.m. on May 28 at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village.
Surveillance footage shows 21-year-old Jackson Julian Sagesse Jr. approaching Hosford’s parked Mercedes. As she attempted to get back into her car, he forced the door open and repeatedly stabbed her. A male friend returned to the scene during the attack and was stabbed in the throat while trying to save her. He survived and was able to call for help.
Hosford was found unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead at 2:01 a.m. Police located Sagesse at his nearby apartment, where they found two steak knives—one in his pocket and another in his car—matching knives from his kitchen. He later confessed, chillingly telling authorities, “I just killed someone and walked away.”
Friends and family remember Hailey as a joyful and radiant presence. “There’s evil, and there’s good—we lost the good,” said close friend Aubrey Rosebrock. A GoFundMe campaign set up in her memory has already raised over $14,500 to help cover funeral expenses.
