At airport security, an officer noticed something odd in an elderly woman’s suitcase. When opened, everyone was stunned: inside were three live chickens, huddled together with grain and a rag for warmth.
The woman explained softly that they were gifts for her grandchildren, raised at home so she could send them fresh food. Though rules meant the birds couldn’t travel, the officer gently reassured her and arranged for the chickens to go to a nearby farm.
Before boarding, she whispered, “Please tell them not to forget—those chickens are mine.” The officer nodded, touched by her quiet love and devotion.
