A small plane crashed in Boca Raton, Florida, Friday morning, killing all three people on board.
The Cessna 310R had just taken off for Tallahassee when it experienced mechanical problems and went down near Military Trail, striking a car on the ground. The driver survived with minor injuries after swerving into a tree to avoid the wreckage.
Witnesses said the plane was flying unusually low before bursting into flames on impact.
Federal investigators are now examining video footage and eyewitness accounts to learn what caused the tragedy. Boca Raton’s mayor offered condolences, saying the community’s thoughts are with the victims’ families.
