Trump Declared “Fully Fit” After First Physical of Second Term — Drops 20 Pounds, Shows No Signs of Decline
President Donald Trump, 78, has received a clean bill of health following his first official physical since starting his second term in office — and the results are making headlines.
On Friday, April 11, Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he spent several hours undergoing a full medical workup. By the weekend, he was back at Mar-a-Lago, reportedly energized and in good spirits.
In a memo released Sunday, April 13, White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella confirmed that Trump is “fully fit” to carry out the duties of the presidency. The report included updates on his current medications, recent procedures, and a notable 20-pound weight loss since his last recorded weight of 244 pounds in 2020.
Now weighing in at 224 pounds, the 6’3″ president is reportedly focused on staying healthy — crediting his active schedule and frequent golf games as key factors. Dr. Barbabella said Trump currently takes Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe for cholesterol management and a daily low-dose aspirin for heart health. He also uses a topical cream for a minor skin issue.
The report also confirmed that Trump has undergone cataract surgery on both eyes (at an undisclosed date) and had a routine colonoscopy in July 2024. Doctors found a benign polyp and minor diverticulosis, both typical findings for someone his age.
All of Trump’s vaccinations — including those required for international travel — are current.
“President Trump continues to enjoy robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function,” Dr. Barbabella noted, adding that Trump’s stamina remains exceptional.
Trump echoed that message earlier in the week on Truth Social, writing: “I have never felt better, but nonetheless, these important checkups must be done!”
After surviving an assassination attempt in July 2024 — when a bullet grazed his ear — Trump’s health and resilience have remained a topic of national conversation. Back then, Rep. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former White House physician, declared him “strong as ever” after treatment.
Some critics, including journalist Ramin Setoodeh and distant relatives like Fred C. Trump III, have questioned Trump’s memory and mental sharpness, but the recent medical report found no signs of cognitive decline. The Trump campaign has dismissed such speculation as politically motivated.
With this clean bill of health, Trump is not only the oldest person ever inaugurated but also appears poised to complete his second term in full strength — a fact his supporters see as proof of his unmatched energy and determination.
