Elon Musk’s mysterious neck mark sparks reactions online

Elon Musk Turns Heads at White House with Double Hat Stunt and Mysterious Neck Mark

Elon Musk is back in the headlines — but this time, it’s not about Tesla, rockets, or AI. It’s about his fashion choice at a White House cabinet meeting.

Seated in the Cabinet Room, Musk showed up wearing a bold red cap reading “Gulf of America,” a reference to former President Donald Trump’s controversial renaming of the Gulf of Mexico earlier this year. The hat’s style echoed Trump’s famous “Make America Great Again” caps, and featured the numbers “45 – 47,” nodding to Trump’s return as the 47th U.S. president after serving as the 45th.

But it wasn’t just the hat that got people talking — it was the two hats. In video clips circulating online, Musk, now serving as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was seen stacking the red cap on top of a black one before removing both to speak.

Trump couldn’t help but comment, joking, “Elon, I love your double hat, by the way. He’s the only one who can get away with that.” Musk laughed and replied, “Well, Mr. President, as they say, I wear a lot of hats. Even my hat wears a hat!”

That moment lit up social media. “Double Hat Day” started trending, with one Facebook user posting, “Elon Musk stacking hats at a cabinet meeting? That’s peak 2025.”

However, not everyone was focused on the headwear. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed what looked like a mark or scar on Musk’s neck, sparking speculation online. Comments ranged from worried — “Did Elon have a biopsy?” — to confused — “What’s that cut on his neck??” Others were more critical: “Is he really showing up to a cabinet meeting dressed like that?”

Still, it was the hats — and the mystery mark — that stole the show, drawing everything from laughs to eye-rolls. One viral post summed it up: “Cringe. But also, somehow… on brand.”

This isn’t Musk’s first headline-grabbing moment in Washington. Back in February, he posted a photo from the Oval Office wearing an oversized MAGA hat, arms spread wide, dressed in his signature all-black outfit. The image made waves online.

By March, questions about his dress code hit the press room. When asked why Musk was allowed to show up in such casual attire — especially after Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy was criticized for not wearing a suit — Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt joked, “He did last night.” She added with a smirk, “I think the president liked it very much.”

For now, Elon Musk remains a walking headline — part tech titan, part political wildcard, part internet meme. Whether it’s his wardrobe or his one-liners, he continues to blur the lines between government, celebrity, and satire.
