Toddler Famous for ‘OK Baby’ Videos Dies in Tragic Crash; Parents Left Severely Injured
The parents of Preston Ordone, the toddler who became an internet sensation for his viral “OK Baby” videos, are recovering in separate hospitals after a devastating vehicle crash on April 24 that tragically claimed their son’s life.
Preston, who was known for his adorable videos on TikTok, was killed in the accident when the family’s Ford F-150 truck veered off the road and collided with a tree in rural Louisiana. The crash occurred in St. Tammany Parish, about 50 miles north of New Orleans, at approximately 11:50 a.m. Louisiana State Police confirmed the news on social media.
While Katelynn and Jaelan Ordone, the toddler’s parents, survived the crash, they sustained severe injuries and were transported to different hospitals. The police report revealed that Preston, who was seated in a child safety seat in the rear of the vehicle, was improperly restrained, contributing to the severity of his injuries. Despite efforts to save him, he later succumbed to his wounds.
Katelynn and Jaelan, who were both properly restrained in the front seats, were seriously injured. Katelynn suffered multiple broken bones and a severe concussion, while Jaelan underwent emergency surgery on one of his legs. Both remain in critical condition, though Katelynn was able to walk for the first time after the accident.
Family friend Melanie Matranga shared the tragic news in a heart-wrenching TikTok update, confirming that Preston’s seven-year-old sister, Paisley, was not in the car at the time of the crash, as she was at school.
In the video, Matranga thanked the public for their support and shared that Katelynn and Jaelan are still recovering in different hospitals, urging prayers and assistance for the family during this incredibly difficult time.
Preston’s viral videos, which featured him enthusiastically exclaiming “OK” as he played in puddles and enjoyed other activities, had earned him millions of fans. His untimely passing has left a deep impact on his followers and loved ones alike.
The ongoing investigation includes a toxicology sample from the driver, as part of the standard protocol.
