When Patricia Clarke was pregnant in 1983, she had a feeling her baby would be big—just not this big. On the day Kevin Robert Clark was born, he weighed over 16 pounds, becoming the largest baby ever delivered at Community Memorial Hospital, and possibly in all of New Jersey.
He didn’t fit in a crib, outgrew baby clothes instantly, and yet was perfectly healthy. His size quickly made headlines nationwide, even landing mentions on Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live.
And Kevin kept growing. At 12, he was already 5’7”; by junior high, 6’5”. Today, at 35, he stands 6’9”, and jokes that he’s “5-foot-21.” When people ask if he plays basketball, he fires back, “Do you play miniature golf?”
Now a former military man, Kevin lives with his 6-foot-tall wife and their Great Dane—fittingly. After a lifetime of turning heads, he’s embraced his size with humor and grace.
